I had the Burrata and the tagliatelle with porcini mushroom and truflle oil, both were spectacular. The space is limited but the service is really good. I recommend this place!

Costa Med is a nice fine dining restaurant, the service is great, the owner is a nice person, the food is good but expensive, they don't have full bar, and nice outside tables. I don't recommend any dessert but soon i will go back

Well I'm not sure why this is highly rated unless u want bread mozzarella n prosciutto because that's the only thing that was good service was really slow over an hour to just have an appetizer. Waiter raved about the octopus salad. Salad was over acidic octopus was tough n all I tasted was the burnt suckers next had the polenta n Chilean Seabass polenta was crap yes crap n Seabass well I left it very disappointing I travel all over the U.S. On business I would never recommend this place I ordered room service when I got back to the hotel

Great, great, great. We live on KB and have never eaten here. What a missed opportunity. Crab cake appetizer, chicken and spinach and goat cheese, linguine fruiti di mare (no black linguine available). One of the best meals ever. We ate outside and it was cool and breezy. The Argentine Cabernet and Cab-Sav by the glass was perfect. Two people - $100 with tip. Perfect.

Wow...just came back from a fantastic week at the Ritz. One of my favorite parts was dining here!!!! Food was EXCELLENT! Service was helpful and informative. I can't say a bad thing. The outside of the restaurant is very plain and you could walk right past but DO NOT! You will LOVE the food.......We were unable to get a cab and the owner even drove us back. Once again DELICIOUS!!!!!! The wine selection is decent and fyi just beer and wine.Just AMAZING! Be sure to call ahead we booked ours month before......

The food was phenomenal, the service was not. I had some chicken stuffed with spinach and goat cheese and it was to die for. We were one of three parties in the restaurant and the service was just not up to par for the prices. The charge on my credit card was wrong too, lol.

Easily the best restaurant in Key Biscayne, and it's because of the owner's loving care and his continued presence. He is friendly and ensures that his staff provide great service and never wavers on the excellent quality of food and the diverse menu options. Lots of competition between restaurants on this little island but Costa Med is consistently packed and in demand because it is just exquisite. I hesitate in recommending this place because now it will be even harder to get a reservation!

On a recent trip, we ate here twice. You have to get over the fact that's in a strip mall-style development. Once you're inside, you forget all about that. Cozy seating and a packed house lead to quite a buzz inside. The first night, we started with crab cakes. The appetizer has only one but it is huge! I made an excellent choice going for the stuffed pork chop special and my GF had seared tuna. Amazing! Night II, I started with carpaccio and she had the grilled squid salad. A great start, capped off with veal picatta and pasta. Yum!!!! Great wine, excellent service, and awesome food. A definite must, especially if you are staying nearby.

One would never suspect such incredible food was being prepared in this mallish location. True to previous reviews, their crab cakes are phenomenal, the wait staff know their wines, and every morsel of food was award winning. I went with my parents and sister and we were all blown away by the meal. I had their fish of the day. We all shared in the desert, one of which was a warm blueberry bread pudding, amazing. The word of choice throughout the meal was perfection. My sister had the veal scallopini with linguine. She said that she did not know that it was possible to make such perfect pasta. This is the best food on Key Biscayne.

Costa Med is a hidden gem tucked in at The Square Shopping Center in Key Biscayne (Crandon Blvd). I had never heard of this restaurant before my in-laws mentioned it and took us for a family dinner on a Wednesday night. The place was packed - literally. The restaurant has maybe 6-7 tables indoors and the same amount outside. All tables were busy, so to me that is good sign of things to come. I ordered the Crab Cake for appetizer accepting my girlfriend's cousin recommendation. The crab cake was plump and delicious. It is made from "premium claw meat", seasoned with onions, peppers, mayo, and panko. Pan seared to perfection - creating a delicious crust thanks to the panko - and dressed with a balsamic glaze. WOW! I can't wait to try this again. We shared this between 4 people. For main course I had the special of the evening. Mushroom Risotto with a Broiled Lobster Tail. I am very picky with Risotto. The one at Costa Med was wonderful. The rice was cooked perfectly; it was rich with tasty mushrooms providing great flavor and texture. I could tell this risotto was not cream based. I'm not a fan of cream + risotto (easy way to preparation). We did not try dessert... perhaps next time. Word of advice: reservations are highly recommended, and I say that with emphasis on the word highly. From what we saw, you will not be able to get a table without having to wait a long time, if that.

My husband and I just had dinner at CostaMed for the 1st time ... and it was a great experience all around. The food (mozzarella appetizer, filet mignon w/ risotto and spaghetti ragu for the main course and a creme boule for desert) were exceptional. The service was also excellent. Highly recommend it.

Just wanted to give a shout out to my favorite local spot. Right by my house and possible the best food in the Key.

I stopped in here early on a Monday evening recently. Only a third of the tables were occupied, so I was somewhat surprised that the waitstaff seemed disgruntled that we didn't have a reservation. However, we were promptly seated and a server came over to take our order. Though I wasn't completely blown away by the quality of the food, their prices were decent. If I ever find myself back in the KB area, I will give this place another shot as there really aren't a tremendous amount of restaurant options unless you drive into Miami.

I love this restaurant. I've had both lunch and dinner here and it's great. Last night I had two of the specials- the asparagus wrapped in prosciutto and the filet mignon. The asparagus was fantastic- and could have been a meal in itself. It was very flavorful and I found myself sopping up the sauce with my bread. The filet was cooked to my liking, was tender, and again it was a generous portion. The risotto accompanied it perfectly. I highly recommend Costa Med when you're in Key Biscayne.

This is one of the best bistros in Miami and it is almost worthy of 5 stars. Why not? When this quaint place fills up it is difficult to converse across the table. Moreover, the waiter tells you about "today's specials," but frankly they seem to never change, so are they really daily specials... Anyways, order the mussels (as good as George's), the calamari, any of the fish, La Entrana and you will be impressed. The pastas are also good, but for an active male I'd say the portions are a little small. Also, the Malbec compliments the meals. Buon appetito!

This is a small Argentine restaurant in the Square shopping center in Key Biscayne. My wife and I after seeing an excellent specialist at the Mercy Hospital (he's an oldie but a goodie) and learning that we were not expecting to reach our expiration dates any time soon, we decided to celebrate with a delicious lunch. We both ordered the grilled trout with almonds served with beautifully cooked baby carrots and mashed spuds. The 15$ lunch special included soup or salad. She ordered sopa de garbanzos(chick pea) and I ordered a beautifully presented small salad. The Argentine server was beautiful and pleasant. What more could we wish for. We were very gruntled. We had been there before but this was the best.

This restaurant was very small, but the food was FABULOUS!! The portobella mushroom appetizer was stunning. The flavors were outstanding. I have never had anything like it. The staff was also friendly and accomodating. I would recommend this to everyone!

Went there for the first time. We ordered the mussels in provencal, the tuna tar tar, the french onion soup and the pork chop special. The food was fantastic! Really outstanding! The service was great! Especially the manager, Alejandro, that went out of his way to make us feel welcome! Really a great experience! Highly recommend it!

I have been going to delicious Costa Med for lunch and dinner for many years now and I rarely order from the menu, even though it is very complete. The specials are always excellent and always different. The wine list and the food are always top notch.

Seldom do I ever prepare a critique of places I eat, but I had to show the love for the folks at Costa Med in Key Biscayne. The filet mignon served was, in my opinion, prepared by the Gods, and the red wine that I sipped....seamlessly integrated itself with the juicy bite size of the filet. The friendly staff and service was impeccable and the owner, a friendly and gregarious individual, made the evening well worth our drive from our hotel in South Beach. kudos to the krew at Costa Med. You hit a "cuadragular" in my book!

Went to costs Med with some friends. The food was very nicely presented by friendly staff. I had the crab cakes and a delicious fresh salad. The dressing was so good I could eat it with a spoon!! When you are here in the keys restaurants can ce hit or miss. I thought they were a hit!!

When a little out of my way to meet some friends in one of their favorite restaurant, and I can understand why. This is such a good neighborhood restaurant, where the waiters know all the clients and how they like their food, they will even remember special request from prior visits and where the chef comes out to greed each table. The food is excellent, I had the fish special a sea bass that was perfectly cook, the meet cuts were also very good and tried the risotto, everything was delicious. Is a small place and yes is in a mall, but once you sit and start enjoying the meal is done deal. The wine selections are good too. Just going to Key Biscayne is a change from the Miami scene, this place is a must if you are in the area. Is simple food cook delicious!

Very Good to excellent staff. The waiter takes pride in his restaurant and made some excellent recommendations. The rest of the staff was a little slow, but I equate that to being on island time. Chilean sea bass special was cooked perfectly. Soft, moist and almost buttery - the was sea bass should be. The risotto side was also prepared properly, soft, creamy and not a hint of firmness (but it wasn't mush either). The tuna tataki was fine, prepared well but nothing special. Unless you are an escargot connoisseur, I'd pass. It was a bit earthy for my taste. There is a reason why this place is packed on a Tuesday night.

My husband and I are Miami born and raised. We dine at excellent restaurants locally and all over the world as we are fortunate to travel. We usually plan our vacations around fine dining experiences. Based on this, we wanted to write a review on Costa Med as we were there this past weekend. The food was delicious and the service outstanding. A young man named Pedro was our server and was very knowledgeable about the menu. The tuna tataki appetizer was probably the best we have ever had. Great place for a nice quiet dinner in Key biscayne.

The service is impeccable which is usually the easiest place for me to find faults when eating out but the food is outstanding as well. My favorite dish which I have had several times now is the lobster ravioli, they are to die for! But everything in the menu is amazing and every time we go we leave as happy as one can be!

No thrilled. Everyone raved about this restaurant. Maybe it was because we were the last reservation of the night but nothing was right. The server messed up our order which was not a big deal...but he said "no, you said you wanted this and not that". I"m sure the food was tasty but too many bad things happened to give this a good rating.

I have to say this is one of the best restaurants on Key Biscayne (if not the best). I have eaten here many times, but recently I took my parents who are from out of town here, and they loved it. This restaurant is tiny, so I recommend making a reservation. My past dining experience was excellent. I was with a party of 6, and we all dined outside (I brought my bug spray along because I tend to get eaten alive by mosquitoes). To start with, my mom and I split the Sweet & Sour Raviolis. These are truly amazing...these are a must if you like raviolis. Everything in this dish just works perfectly--from the sauce to the figs. For my main course, I had my favorite, crab cakes (this is an appetizer but I find it enough to eat for my main meal). I am very picky about my crab cakes, and I must say, these are some of the best that I have had. They are not breaded, very light, and fall apart with your fork. My mom had another fish dish which was amazing. The rest of the table all enjoyed their food as well. I have never had a bad meal at Costa Med. The service is excellent, the waiters know about their wines, and atmosphere is quaint. I think that even if you do not live on Key Biscayne that you should travel over the bridge to come eat at this restaurant. It is definitely worth it.

Redemption ! The last time I was here my experience was, um, disappointing (see my review 2/4/11). My decision to give it another chance was amply rewarded. This time, they were firing on all cylinders. The service was stellar, the food was even tastier than it sounded, and was served fairly promptly. The prices are still a bit steep, but that's the norm here on Key Biscayne.

Over time, Costa Med has proven to be the best restaurant on Key Biscayne. The service is great, but the magic is in the food. For lunch, my staple meal is the Eiffel Tower consisting of goats cheese and grilled vegetables. For dinner, you really must have the crab cakes as a starter and either fillet minion or chicken in a medallion. And for desert, Costa Med's Tiramisu is simply the best!

I am a big fan of Costa Med. Is a Small place, but alway great. From the start you get some hot bread with Hummus and great Latin Servants. i will recommend many things from this place. Carpaccio and Risotto specials are very good. Salads are a good thing. For dessert DO NOT miss the Quesillo its just delicious.

Hadn't been to Costa Med in almost a year after our last terrible experience and not sure why we went again. Service was terrible, food was cold and did not taste freshly made. No one seems to care. PLEASE AVOID. Costa Dead.

The fish was awesome but the veggies way overdone and charred. Lunch uses the same menu and prices as dinner. I would only go back if they implement a separate lunch menu with lunch prices.

Great food but overpriced! You won't get a check of less than 75$ for a dinner for 2 with each one dish and a glass of wine.. My advise would be go on the main land and you will find as good food but cheaper (fratelli milano, tutto pasta. yes pasta..)

We went for dinner at the suggestion of a friend who had been there before. We sat outside as it was a lovely evening. However, this is a shopping mall and the sidewalk tables require a bit of adjustment as pedestrians walk by, The restaurant interior was very warm and airless so this was a better if not perfect choice. We ordered coctails and an entree. The coctails arrived after some wait,; we had to ask for bread and butter. There was a sense from the wait staff that we were a bit too"gringo" in our expectations. The veal I thought I rodered with a marsala sauce came out as a huge dried breaded piece. I did not complain but asked for wedges of lemon to give it some flavor, I had to ask twice. My wife had the special which she found just adequate and our friend who recommended the place seemed to enjoy her food. I do not thinkl we will be back even thoug we live on the island.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
